The 375th anniversary of the City of Lappeenranta is celebrated with films – a movie day in the Fortress tent on Sunday 11.8.2024
Lappeenranta's Dream Year of Culture 2024 offers three free movies as part of Lappeenranta's 375th anniversary celebrations. You can enjoy the movies on Sunday 11.8. from 13–20 at the fortress's festival tent, located on the grassy area of the fortress between the Radio House and the South Karelia Museum.
– Residents were given the opportunity to vote for the movies. The movies chosen were Elemental, Vonkka and The Grand Budapest Hotel," tells Anni Pellikka, Project Coordinator of the Dream Year of Culture.
– There are chairs in the tent, but you can also enjoy the films by lying on your own picnic blanket.
Free tickets to the movies will be available from 1st August at the Customer Service Centre Winkki and Kulttuuritila Nuijamies.
The film day is organised in cooperation with Kulttuuritila Nuijamies and KinoPattery.
Movie Day timetable:
Movie for the whole family (S): Elemental at 13:00
Movie for youth (K7): Wonka at 15:30
Movie for adults (K12): The Grand Budapest Hotel at 18:00
