The plot subdivision is a plan for how the block area in accordance with the detailed plan will be divided into plots. The plot subdivision or change thereof is drawn up either as a separate plot subdivision or as a plot subdivision to be approved in connection with the detailed plan. If the landowner wishes to change the current plot subdivision (for example, to divide one plot into two plots), a change of plot subdivision may be prepared on the landowner’s application. The prerequisites for changing the plot subdivision are examined on a case-by-case basis, and the decision to change the plot subdivision is made by the cadastral surveyor. Plot subdivision is subject to a fee according to the tariff.
The preparation of a plot subdivision for hearing the concerned parties takes approximately 1–2.5 months. The process can be accelerated with the approval of all the parties involved.
A map of the plot subdivision is prepared, which shows, for example, the plot number, area, boundary dimensions, boundary points and a list of their coordinates. The areas of Ylämaa, Joutseno and Nuijamaa are mainly areas of advisory plot allocation, with the exception of plan changes made after the municipal mergers.
