The youth work of the City of Lappeenranta is work with residents under the age of 29 that is carried out with individuals and groups. The youth services support the healthy growth and well-being of young people in Lappeenranta, their independence and their participation by providing diverse hobby and activity opportunities. Youth work is carried out at the city’s five youth centres, in youth work in the different areas, at Ohjaamo and in outreach youth work, school youth work, functional small groups, camps, Youth Council and Children’s Parliament, international youth work and various projects. The youth services cooperate closely with other instances working with children and young people.
Youth and sports organisations as well as instances engaging in youth work are offered low-cost facilities. The activities of youth organisations are also supported through grants.
