The museums of Lappeenranta stores, researches and presents the history and art of the Fortress, the city and the regions.

The Museums of Lappeenranta includes four museum sites. The old military buildings at the Lappeenranta Fortress house the South Karelia Museum, Lappeenranta Art Museum and Cavalry Museum. The Wolkoff House Museum is located on Kauppakatu. Besides permanent exhibitions, the museums organise various temporary exhibitions and public events.

The Museums of Lappeenranta is a museum with regional responsibility. It is responsible for the development of cultural environment work and regional museum activities in the South Karelia region and art museum work also in Kymenlaakso.
