Guided gym groups
Circuit training 60+/70+, 60 min
A versatile guided strength workout that takes place in the gym. Balance and body control are also practiced in the class using various tools. Some of the movements are done at floor level. The exercises are easy and effective and suitable/adaptable for everyone. The class begins with a guided warm-up and ends with final stretches.
Gym 60+/75+, 90 min
An independent gym exercise session that starts with a joint guided warm-up. The instructor will be there to guide you in using the equipment and give you tips for effective and safe training.
Goodbye to excess weight, 60 min
A versatile guided circuit workout for men. The class includes easy and effective strength, balance and body control exercises suitable/adaptable for everyone using a variety of tools. The group is intended for everyone with a BMI (Body Mass Index) higher than 30.
Exercise for ladies, 60 min
A versatile guided exercise group for women. The class includes easy and effective strength, balance and body control exercises suitable/adaptable for everyone using a variety of tools and your own body weight. The group is particularly suitable for people starting or returning to exercise. The group is intended for everyone with a BMI (Body Mass Index) higher than 30.
Strength and mobility, 60 min
A versatile guided exercise group for people of working age. The class includes easy and effective strength and body control exercises suitable/adaptable for everyone using a variety of tools and your own body weight. The group is particularly suitable for people starting or returning to exercise. The group is not intended for people who exercise actively.
Modified gym group, 75 min
In the modified gym group, fitness is improved by strength and balance exercises. Each session includes a joint warm-up and cool-down. The group members will receive their own training programs. The modified gym group is intended for people who have difficulty getting out of the chair, walk slowly or have difficulty climbing stairs.
Gym group Let’s stand, 90 min
The group is recommended for people who have become concerned about the risk of falling. The class includes strength and balance exercises suitable for everyone in the gym. The classes include info sessions with themes to prevent falls as you get older.
Gym session for unemployed people, 60 min
A free, low-threshold gym training session for unemployed people. The gym can be accessed by showing the job seeker’s customer card.
Independent training periods (Kahilanniemi), 120 min
The independent training period is intended for independent gym training. The instructor will be there to guide you, if necessary, in using the equipment and give you tips for effective and safe training.
Guided exercise groups
Chair exercise. 45 min
Sit or stand for happy and diverse exercise that maintains functional capacity. It is also suitable for people whose functional capacity is already slightly reduced. The exercise is done to the rhythm of music, using tools.
Light exercise, 45 min
Exercise without jumping that maintains good mood, well-being and basic fitness. The exercise is performed with rhythmic and varied music, using equipment and body weight. Some of the movements are done at floor level. The movements are adaptable.
Strength and balance, 60 min
The class develops body control through various strength and balance exercises. The class begins with a guided warm-up and ends with final stretches. The class will be carried out as circuit exercise.
FasciaMethod, 60 min
A calm-paced, functional body maintenance class combining myofascial mobility training, precision stretching for tight muscles, movement management training and balloon fascia treatment. The perspective is rehabilitative, including exercises for the most common musculoskeletal symptoms. FasciaMethod is suitable for everyone who wants to improve their performance effectively and promote their well-being!
Muscle care, 45 min
Peaceful and relaxing body maintenance class where, after a thorough warm-up, a variety of easy and effective body movement, flexibility and strength movements are performed. There are no step aerobics, jumps or other movements that are very stressful to the body.
Pilates, 45 min
A peaceful and relaxing class that combines easy movements that improve body strength, control and mobility. In the class, movements are made both upright and on the floor level.
LAVIS™, 45 min
A fun, easy and sweaty dance class. In the class, you will dance solo to traditional Finnish music familiar from open-air dances (e.g. humppa, schottische, rock/jive). In the class, you will learn the basics of different dance steps in addition to exercising.
Senior dance, 45 min
Happy, safe and easy dancing to the rhythm of good music, where even older dancers can keep up. In the dances, easy-to-learn sets of steps are repeated, which are performed in pairs or alone in the circle. Senior dances can be done standing or sitting, depending on the group.
Dance mix, 60 min
An engaging and easy dance class. In the class, you will move solo to the rhythm of good music (e.g. samba, rumba, salsa, tango and waltz). Technique and expression are practiced through simple choreographies. You do not need previous dance experience.
Women’s exercise group + kids’ activities at the same time, 90 min
Fun and effective exercise group for women of any age that fits all. You can bring your children with you. Parents will take turns babysitting (reading books, drawing etc.), while the rest are exercising. We speak simple Finnish and English if needed.
Neighbourhood exercise session at Louhenpuisto, 30 min
Easy movements for seniors that maintain muscle strength and balance. The movements are performed standing up. You can also take part in the exercise session with an accessory such as a walker. The exercise session is free of charge and does not require advance registration.
We move! – shopping centre walk in Iso Kristiina, 30 min
Guided light exercise, guided walking, strength and balance exercises under the guidance of the city’s sports instructor. Suitable for all fitness levels, including wheelchair and walker users. You should wear comfortable shoes. Outerwear can be left in a reserved, locked space in the shopping centre. The group is free of charge, no pre-registration required. Gathering at Brahen piha, in front of Clas Ohlson.
Balance group Let’s stand, 90 min
Guided circuit training with a focus on balance development and prevention of falls. The classes do not include movements on the floor. The group is aimed at those who are concerned about the risk of falling. The classes also include short info sessions and discussions on a variety of topics.
Guided water aerobics
Water aerobics (low pool), 30 min
Refreshing and fun water exercise to the rhythm of music. Water resistance, different tools and training tempo make the movements more effective. Muscle tension and pain are reduced due to the massaging and relaxing effect of the water. Water exercise is also well suited for people with joint problems.
Deep pool exercise, 30 min
A brisk, heart rate-increasing deep water aerobics session with the help of running belts and resistance-enhancing equipment. The buoyancy of the water allows for wide trajectories in the free directions of movement.
Pool circuit, 45 min
A joyful and fast water aerobics session carried out as circuit training. During the class, you will perform diverse movements using your own body resistance and various tools.
HEVI water aerobics, 30 min
Easy and fun water exercise that develops strength and endurance in a variety of ways. Water resistance and different tools make the movements more effective and challenge the balance. Water exercise is also well suited for people with joint problems. The group is intended for everyone with a BMI (Body Mass Index) higher than 30. During the session, the hall is closed to other customers.
