Environmental health care
The environmental health care service area of Lappeenranta Region’s Environmental Office is responsible for the statutory environmental health care and veterinary care tasks assigned to municipalities in the City of Lappeenranta and the municipalities of Lemi, Savitaipale, Taipalsaari and Luumäki.
The objective of environmental health care is to reduce, eliminate and prevent health risks in the living environment and thereby promote human and animal health and welfare.
Environmental health care includes health protection, food control, tobacco control, animal health and welfare control, and veterinary services. Regular monitoring is carried out in accordance with the environmental health care control plan.
