School enrolment
All children of compulsory school age in Lappeenranta have the right to attend basic education organised by the city. Your child’s school place is determined by your family’s address. If your child has a decision on special-needs support made during pre-primary education, it will be taken into account when making the decision on the school place. In this case, your child will be assigned a place in a school where special-needs support can be arranged for them.
In the guide Newcomer’s guide (Opas koulutulokkaan kotiin) and 6th graders guide (Opas 6.-luokkalaisen kotiin) you will find information on enrolment, weighted classes, transport to and from school as well as other school-related matters.

The form indicates the school place that has been assigned to your child on the basis of the address information received from the Population Information System. If you cannot fill in the enrolment form electronically, you can get help from Customer Service Centre Winkki. You can also use the enrolment form to apply for a school place at another school for your child or, for example, in weighted education, if you so wish.
If your family moves to Lappeenranta, you can contact the headmaster of the school closest to your home and enquire about available school places.

Pupils moving to Lappeenranta
Your child’s school place is determined by your new address. Fill in the enrolment form for pupils moving to Lappeenranta in Wilma. You do not need Wilma credentials to fill in the form. The link to Wilma is under Online services (Verkkoasiointi). After we have received your enrolment form, we will check what your new local school in Lappeenranta is and forward the pupil’s information to the new school.
