Lappeenranta region public transport customer survey is open – influence services by responding and you can win travel tickets
Public transport in the Lappeenranta region uses a customer survey to collect information and feedback about public transport services in the Lappeenranta and Imatra areas. The online survey, open from 17 November to 17 December 2025, can be answered via this link or the city of Lappeenranta's website or the attached QR code.
The survey is divided into three sections: 1. Local transport in Lappeenranta, 2. Local transport in Imatra, and 3. Regional transport between Lappeenranta and Imatra. You can respond to one or more sections of the survey. The survey is intended for all residents of Lappeenranta and Imatra who live in the public transport area of the Lappeenranta region, regardless of whether they use public transport.
Public Transport Manager Terhi Koski says that by answering the customer survey, residents of the area can give feedback and influence its further development.
− The survey measures the current level of service, and in the future, it can be used to monitor how successful the renovation work has been in the opinion of the area's residents and what could be further improved.
Three 30-day season tickets or a similar-value ticket will be drawn from among all those who answered the survey and left their contact information.
Feedback from the survey has contributed to the development of the service
The public transport areas of Lappeenranta and Imatra merged at the beginning of 2024 to form the Lappeenranta region public transport area. Public transport in the Lappeenranta region is responsible for public transport within Lappeenranta and Imatra as well as inter-city transport and organizes public transport services within the framework of the payment shares assigned by the cities towards service level goals.
A public transport customer survey was conducted throughout the region for the first time in 2024. A similar survey was already conducted in Lappeenranta in 2012–2023, which provided us with valuable feedback and development suggestions that were also implemented, says Koski.
− The pink Jouko brand, created in collaboration with local residents, has been visible in Lappeenranta's local transport since 2020, and the Jouko image has been extended to Lappeenranta's city bikes, for example. In the future, the brand will be increasingly visible as a regional brand and as part of sustainable mobility.
Other measures that have been implemented include the launch and development of a regional public transport area, the involvement of Imatra residents in Jouko photo shoots, the update of the Jouko 2.0 brand image, updating the service level targets for public transport in Lappeenranta and Imatra, participating in resident meetings and events, launching Jouko social media, introducing electric buses to Lappeenranta's local transport, reducing the number of zones, and harmonizing ticket products and prices.
