The AMIGOS (Active Mobility Innovations for Green and safe city solutions) development work promotes sustainable and safe mobility.
AMIGOS brings together 28 partners from across Europe and beyond: 14 cities, 6 technology pioneers, 4 research innovators and 4 consultancy firms. The development work started in June 2023 and will last until May 2027.
Digital tools, such as the Mobility Observation Box (MOB), are used to collect data and identify challenges.
Co-creation is used to find solutions that:
Solutions are sought and tested in five cities (Living Labs) and ten Safety Improvement Areas (SIA) and replicated in five Twin Cities.
In Lappeenranta. the project includes both a safety improvement area (SIA) and a Living Lab site.
We have selected the Lauritsala school center and its surrounding areas as a safety improvement area (SIA), with the aim of improving traffic safety in the area, especially for vulnerable road users.
The Living Lab in Lappeenranta is about promoting active mobility, especially cycling, and coordinating different modes of transport.
