Culture Pop-Up: From Biowaste to Biomaterial -workshop 19th, 24th and 26th of August

Come explore and experiment bio-based materials by making them yourself!

During the workshops, we will create guided material experiments by making bioplastic from potato starch, combining it with everyday biowaste materials. The workshop is beginner-friendly and open to anyone curious about exploring new materials – no previous experience is needed. The activities are relaxed, experimental and easy to approach. A single workshop accommodates a maximum of 10 participants. Workshop is free of charge and will be held in Finnish and English.

You can participate in one, two or all three workshops. The content is the same, but the material experiments may vary between sessions. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

The workshops are part of the City of Lappeenranta’s “Kulttuuritupsahdus” 2026 series.

The workshops follow Safer Space Principles.
