International House Guidance and Counselling

International House South Karelia – “Kansainvälinen Etelä-Karjala” – is a network composed of various actors and services across the region. The South Karelia Employment Area coordinates the network. Its International House model provides guidance and counselling services to immigrants and foreign-language speakers in our area. The South Karelia region includes nine municipalities: Lappeenranta, Imatra, Luumäki, Lemi, Savitaipale, Taipalsaari, Ruokolahti, Rautjärvi, and Parikkala.

International House South Karelia provides clear information and guidance for all stages of settling in the region. Our guidance service helps you access integration services, employment services, municipal services, and recreational activities. We assist you in navigating Finnish society and its systems, making sure you are directed to the right services. We also encourage and support participation in associations, community groups, cultural events, and leisure activities. All our services are based on integration legislation, and interpreter assistance is available whenever needed.

We work closely with other municipal services, organizations that support immigrants, and educational institutions – especially in matters related to international students. Information is available in multiple languages on several websites, with Info Finland being a great example.
