Digitisation

In the digital workshop at the city library, you can convert your old recordings into digital formats.

In the digital workshop, you can digitise, for example, the following formats:

• Video tapes: VHS and VHS-C. Other tapes can also be digitised if the customer has their own device with which to play the tape.
• Cine films: Normal8, Super8.
• Photos: paper photos, slides and negatives.
• Audio: audio cassettes, vinyl records.

Requirements

Not for commercial use. Equipment of the digital workshop is used as a self-service.

Instructions

You need a tutorial to start. In the tutorial, you are introduced to the space, the practices and the way the work is done. Please book a time slot through the Timmi room reservation system. For more information, visit the City of Lappeenranta's website.

Payment information

The service is free of charge.

The use of the equipment and space is free of charge. However, you need to purchase the storage media yourself.
