Welcome to the website of this development project!

This project has been completed.

Developing resident-driven circular economy solutions

The Citizen-oriented circular economy solutions in South Karelia -project aims to develop citizen-centric and user-centric circular economy services using service design methods.

The project results are practices that enhance circular economy and that are co-developed with residents and companies. First, biowaste collection will be enhanced through communication and practical service design experiments.

Secondly, based on the needs of citizen communities 1–2 citizen-driven circular economy services, e.g. sharing or lending services, will be implemented.

Thirdly, circular economy consumer service providers will be identified in the Lappeenranta region, and accessibility of services will be improved with digital mapping service.

Implementation

The main implementer of the project, LAB University of Applied Sciences, will implement the project together with the City of Lappeenranta from March 2023 to June 2025. The project has received funding from the European Regional Development Fund.
