The Dream Corner will continue in autumn 2024
Do you want to bring culture- and art activities to the Dream Corner in IsoKristiina?
In cooperation with IsoKristiina, the Lappeenranta´s Dream Year of Culture 2024 will continue to provide a space for art in autumn 2024. Lappeenta´s Dream Year of Culture 2024 team would like to thank all 13 operators, IsoKristiina, Lappeenranta City Library and all visitors who have found their way to Dream Corner IsoKristiina 2nd floor. We have had a great programme and a large number of participants at Dream Corner since 25th March and several parties have already asked about the possibility of bringing activities to Dream Corner in the future, says Anni Pellikka, project coordinator.
We are now gathering all the interested cultural operators to bring culture- and art activities to Dream Corner for the period 1st September - 31th October 2024. The space is open for pop-up activities, exhibitions, performances and workshops. Interested operators can send their suggestions for the use of the space and a timetable wish by 21th June 2024 to anni.pellikka@lappeenranta.fi. Please note that we are gathering the programme during applying time, so we recommend sending your suggestion as early as possible. If we receive a large number of suggestions, we will coordinate activities based on the diversity of content and schedule requests.
The aim is to enable creative professionals to showcase their skills and create low-threshold cultural experiences that inspire people to get involved in culture and events. The space can also be used for Cultural Pop-Ups.
The space is free of charge for operators. The operator is responsible for the presentation and implementation of the activities, including furniture, technique and necessary equipment. The operator is responsible for supervision during the opening hours of the space. The operator is entirely responsible for the implementation of the activities.
There is currently a programme of MHAW at the Dream Corner: Taidekollektiivi Mistuura Kuvallista tunteesi - Osallistava taidetila 20th May-21th May at 12.00-20.00, Laptuote
Kettupaja´s Miun Unelma 22th May at 10.00-11.00 and Metku´s cartoon workshops, badge making and play for children 24th May at 12.00-16.00.
In the last week of May, textile artisan Kirsi Reilin will instruct a workshop on Patterns on Textile at the Dream Corner from 27th May to 30th May from 15.00 to 16.30. There is still time to register in kirsi.reilin@lappeenranta.fi. The rich and colourful spring season of Dream Corner will end on 31th May 2024 with performances of Sirkus Kumiankka Tremolo at 14.00-16.00.
