Child home care or private care subsidies
Child home care allowance can be paid to families with a child under 3 years of age who is being cared for at home. The parents can apply for the child home care allowance from Kela (the national Social Insurance Institution). The child home care allowance consists of the basic allowance, the care supplement (the amount of which is calculated on the basis of the family’s monthly income).
The parents are entitled to private daycare allowance if the child is looked after at home by a private child care provider. In such cases, the family is an employer that must sign a work contract with the child care provider of its choice. Contact the city of Lappeenranta ’s child care and education services or the head of the family day care services in your area for additional information.
