Remedial instruction and special education
Remedial instruction is arranged for students who have temporarily fallen behind in their studies. Remedial instruction is also offered to students in need of special assistance. Instruction starts immediately after diagnosing a learning disability to help a student to catch up in the studies. A teacher usually takes initiative in offering remedial instruction. Instruction can be arranged either during normal school hours, or after school hours. Before starting instruction, the school always contacts the guardians.
Part time special education and special education
Many students need special education to advance in their studies. A need for special education may derive from difficulties in learning or adjusting. In part time special education a special teacher gives a wide range of special education in addition to other teaching. If a student has special needs, they are transferred to a special class or special education is provided as part of regular classroom teaching.
