Family day care
Family day care is available in the provider’s own home, in group family care, or in the child’s home.
When municipal day care is given in the provider’s own private home, the child receives care, a setting for learning, and their daytime meals.
Family day care offers individual and comfortable day care in small groups. Family day care is recommended for younger children. Day care groups have children of different ages thus offering the opportunity to place siblings in the same group.
Family day care providers can attend to no more than four children under school age, including their own children. In addition, group can have one part time school child or pre-school child.
As a form of day care, group family day care is between family day care and day care centers.
At times family day care can be arranged in child’s own home. Care can be three family day care or care in one family.
Care and educational objectives are defined together with parents. These objectives are evaluated regularly.
